Most of us think of kids birthday parties and conjure up images of clowns, cake, and kids high on sugar running around having a great time… that is, until you have thrown one of these little shindigs on your own! Then, you just might have images of another sort.
More like nightmares you say? Children who change their mind as you are checking out at the party supply store, fights over who should be invited, and oy, the cleanup! It doesn’t have to be that way. You can have a birthday party without all the stress, and there is a whole industry out there who caters to just that.
As a coordinator, I would always encourage you to give your local party planner a call and just ask what their fees would be. They might not be as bad as you imagine and might save you money in the long run.. after all those trinkets, goody bags, decorations, cupcakes, favors, etc.
As a parent, I understand that sometimes you really want to do it all on your own and be the “cool” mom or dad on the block who throws these great parties your kids love you for. Most of us know of the good-ol’ fallbacks of bounce houses and Chucky. But, I thought I’d throw out some cool options to consider when not wanting to hassle with the cleanup that you might not have considered before.
